    Original Text :αὐτοὶ δὲ τὰ μὲν δεόμενοι, τὰ δὲ ἀπομαχόμενοι τοῖς διώκουσιν ἐμποδὼν ἦσαν ἄχρι δείλης ὀψίας.
     
    Translation :while they themselves, partly by entreaties and partly by fighting, stayed the course of the pursuers until late in the evening.
