ὁ μὲν οὖν κατὰ τὴν πόλιν δῆμος ἄκων ὑπὸ δέους ἡσυχίαν ἦγε: καὶ γὰρ ἀπεσφάγησαν οὐκ ὀλίγοι τῶν ἐναντιουμένων φανερῶς τοῖς τετρακοσίοις.
Translation :
The popular party in the city was constrained by fear to keep quiet, because many of those who openly opposed the Four Hundred had been slain.
