    Original Text :ὁ δ᾽ Ἱκέτης τήν μὲν ἀκρόπολιν τῶν Συρακουσῶν ἐπολιόρκει καὶ σῖτον ἐκώλυεν εἰσπλεῖν τοῖς Κορινθίοις
     
    Translation :But Hicetas kept the acropolis of Syracuse under siege and prevented the importation of food for the Corinthians there

    Remark :victim: Eucleides' and Telemachus' presence in the acropolis is mentioned in 13.2. Although they took a few hundred soldiers from Corinth with them, most of the defenders were mercenaries, who were handed over to them by Dionysius II.
