Translation :Then the Messanians took him into the theatre, brought their children thither from their schools to behold, as a glorious spectacle, the tyrant's punishment, and put him to torment and death.

Edition :Plutarch. Plutarch's Lives. with an English Translation by. Bernadotte Perrin. Cambridge, MA. Harvard University Press. London. William Heinemann Ltd. 1918. 6.

Remark :thirdperson: Although his presence is not explicitly mentioned, it is safe to assume, that Timoleon knew what was happening.
motive: The children are present to see the tyrant's torture and death. This can be seen as a social motive and an entertaining context of sorts.
