Immediately after this Severus turned his full anger on Albinus’ friends in Rome. The head of Albinus was sent to Rome with orders that it should publicly displayed on a pole. In a letter announcing his victory to the Roman people he added a postscript to say that he had sent Albinus’ head to be displayed in public so that the Roman people could see for themselves the measure of his temper and his anger with Albinus’ friends.
