    Original Text :οὐδὲ ἔμελεν αὐτοῖς εἰ ὧν ὑπερεμαχέσαντο, τούτους ἀπώλεσαν, ἀλλ᾽ ὡς καὶ αὐτοὶ καὶ ἠδικημένοι καὶ κεκρατηκότες ἔπαιον ἔσφαττον, ὥστε καὶ πέντε μυριάδας σὺν τοῖς ἐν τῇ μάχῃ πεσοῦσιν ἀπολέσθαι.
     
    Translation :They showed no scruples about destroying the persons in whose behalf they had fought, but dealt blows and committed murder just as if it were they who had been wronged and now had conquered. Thus, counting those that fell in the battle, fifty thousand perished altogether.
