    Original Text :Proinde diffractis capitibus, multos hostium scorpionum iactu moles saxeae colliserunt, alii traiecti sagittis, pars confixi tragulis humum corporibus obstruebant, vulnerati alii socios fuga praecipiti repetebant.
     
    Translation :Then heads were shattered, as masses of stone, hurled from the scorpions, crushed many of the enemy; others were pierced by arrows, some were struck down by spears and the ground strewn with their bodies, while others that were only wounded retreated in headlong flight to their companions.
