Remark :context: Agriwulf had been given the rule over the Suebi by Theoderic II. after the defeat of their King Rechiarius, but had apparently not paid his dues to the Visigothic king. (44.233) For the defeat of Agriwulf in battle, please refer to: "Visigoths under Theoderic II. defeat the Suebi under Agriwulf."
long-term consequence: Theoderic II. afterwards pardoned the Suebi, which had sent him priests as envoys, and allowed them to choose their own ruler. (44.234)
