    Original Text :ὑπατείαν γὰρ αὖθις μετῄει [Catalina], βεβουλευμένος ἀνελεῖν τὸν Κικέρωνα περὶ αὐτόν τῶν ἀρχαιρεσιῶν τὸν θόρυβον.
     
    Translation :For Catiline was again a candidate for the consulship, and had determined to kill Cicero in the very tumult of the elections.

    Notes :This is the third time Catilina takes part in the consular elections (62 BC) - he failed twice before (65 BC and 64 BC - Catilinarian Conspiracy). Cicero was elected in 64 BC. And in 62 BC Silanus and Murena were elected as consuls.
