    Original Text :ἀγνοοῦντος δὲ ταῦτα τοῦ Περεννίου μηδέν τέ τι τοιοῦτον προσδεχομένου νύκτωρ ὁ Κόμοδος πέμψας ἀποτέμνει τὴν κεφαλὴν.
     
    Translation :Since Perennius had no idea of what was happening, he was caught totally unawares when Commodus sent someone by night to behead him.
